MediClick was founded on the idea that hospitals and healthcare organizations have unique needs in the supply chain and financials arena. That dedication translates to significant time spent exchanging information with both our customers and those of other MMIS systems, seeking to understand their needs and desires. Throughout those conversations, MediClick began to understand there was one key issue that remained largely unaddressed by MMIS technology – contracts.
Handling pricing, compliance, tier levels and contract changes is complicated enough – but hospitals are caught up in a four-way relationship with GPOs, manufacturers and distributors, making for an extraordinarily complicated picture. And every minute spent trying to straighten out records or communicate among parties leads to dollars lost for the hospital or IDN.
We've found that some hospitals do actively seek to keep track of their contracts, investing a significant amount of time and resources in manually updating contract pricing in their MMIS. Other healthcare organizations have tried to utilize third-party technology for this process, but savings are already lost by the time decisions can be made with historical data.
Many hospitals have thrown their hands up: They don't have the resources to dedicate to either a service or additional internal personnel. These hospitals rely on the distributors to keep up with the pricing and sometimes the accurate price gets lost in translation from GPO to manufacturer to distributor. The ultimate burden of proof lies with the hospital, and if the hospital can't demonstrate it has the right price, it is often forced to take the price it's given.
MediClick for Contracts & Analysis was developed to help hospitals take control of their supply chain through their contracts, allowing them to:

At Baptist Health System in Tennessee, they are already benefiting from the control Contracts & Analysis has provided.
